Pawnbroker raid: four men arrested

Four men were last night being questioned about the robbery of a Doncaster town centre pawnbroker’s shop after armed police raided separate addresses.

Searches were carried out around 11pm on Monday at properties in Rossington and on Galsworthy Close in Balby, in connection with the raid at the Antique and Bargain Stores in the Market Place on Monday morning.

A police spokesman said yesterday: “Early this morning, Tuesday, four men aged between 21 and 49 were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody.”

Another man, who suffered minor injuries during the incident, did not require medical treatment.
