Owston Ferry man jailed for child sex offences

An Owston Ferry man been jailed for six years after pleading guilty to numerous child sex offences.

Steve Oatway, 56, appeared at Grimsby Crown Court today, where he pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images of children.

Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to seven charges relating to making and possessing over 85,000 indecent images of children.

At a hearing in December last year, Oatway also pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years, one count of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 years and one count of assault of a girl under 13 by touching.

He was also given an indefinite sexual offences prevention order and made to sign the Sex Offenders Register.
