Wath will be blooming good fun on Saturday at the parish church’s floral garden party.

The fete takes place in the grounds of Wath Town Hall and will host performances from the Showcase Theatre Company, St Thomas’s C of E Samba band and the Salvation Army Band, plus a minature garden competition, bouncy castle, races, face-painting, plants, cakes and books. Admission is 20p, accompanied children are admitted for free.

WOMBWELL’S postal delivery times changed this week, as a result of new “efficiencies” and fewer letters being sent according to the Royal Mail.

A spokesman said: “Many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime. The time customers receive mail will depend on where they live on the new delivery route. This may be later or earlier than current delivery times”.

A house front caught fire at Church Street, Wath after flames spread from nearby trees and bushes. The Fire Service said the blaze was accidental.

A PICK-UP truck was burned out in a blaze in Conisbrough. Firefighters were called to Clifton Hill at 4am last Thursday. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
