Two men have appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court this week in connection with the death of 22-year-old Michael Hennessy (pictured), originally from Nottingham, at HMP Lindholme.
Julian Maylor, aged 23, appeared before magistrates charged with murder.
Reiss Comrie, aged 24, also appeared charged with common assault and three counts of giving a list A article to a prisoner.
Both were remanded into custody.
Maylor will appear before Sheffield Crown Court today and Comrie will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday March 12.
The matter came to the attention of South Yorkshire Police officers when they were contacted by prison officials on Saturday December 21, 2013, informing them of the death of Mr Hennessy.
