Relatives of a missing Rotherham woman have been informed of the discovery of a body in woodland.
Cheryl Phillips, aged 45, of Wath-upon-Dearne, was last seen on Co-operative Street in the town at 10am on Wednesday, May 27.
Her relatives were informed last night that a body had been found in a wooded area off Bradberrry Balk Lane in Wombwell, Barnsley, at around 9pm.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “While formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be missing Rotherham woman Cheryl Phillips.
“Mrs Phillips’ family have been informed.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“Our thoughts are with Mrs Phillips’ family in this difficult time and we would like to thank the public for their continued support.”
