Burglars have been stopped in their tracks by the positive actions of a house owner in Cantley, Doncaster, after he increased security following a break-in.
The 38-year-old’s house was broken into on Monday, March 25, but the audible alarm activated and the offenders fled empty-handed.
He then target-hardened the property by having high security anti-snap locks fitted after he was given crime prevention advice by the police.
Three weeks later a further attempt was made to burgle the house, but due to the new security the locks held.
He said: “After the first burglary, I thought it would be a good idea to get these anti-snap locks fitted as the police had recommended. Only a few weeks later, these were proved worthwhile as they protected the property from being broken into.”
