The following people have appeared at Doncaster Magistrates Court charged with the following offences:

HATFIELD: A shoplifter has received a six month conditional discharge after stealing a pair of leggings worth £7.99. Kerry Long, 34, of Cookridge Drive, was ordered to pay £85 costs after she pleaded guilty to the February 1 theft.

SPROTBROUGH: Magistrates have handed out a suspended jail term to a man who breached a restraining order. Brian Morrison, of Westmorland Way, flouted a court order when he contacted a woman on January 20. Morrison, 39, received 20 weeks jail suspended for two years and was ordered to undergo a 24 month course to wean him off alcohol. He also admitted carrying out the offence while subject to a suspended sentence.

ARMTHORPE: A motorist who drove off after crashing into a lamppost has been fined £100 with £100 costs. Barry Swords, 41, of Brookfield Close, pleaded guilty to an offence under the Road Traffic Act after he pranged a Renault Megane in Thornham Close on January 19.

HEXTHORPE: Assaulting a woman has landed a man with a bill for £240. Ali Mohammed Amin, 34, of Hexthorpe Road, was fined £100 with £100 costs and ordered to pay £40 compensation. He admitted the November 29 offence.

BALBY: Supermarket staff managed to apprehend a pain caught shoplifting. Samantha Payne, of Ronald Road, has been ordered to undergo six months treatment for drug addiction after she admitted stealing a £15 pair of boots from Tesco on New Year’s Eve.
