CCTV images released to catch suspected shoplifters

POLICE have released this gallery of suspected shoplifters who officers want to trace in a bid to combat retail crime.

South Yorkshire Police has today revealed that there has been an extra 470 shoplifting offences so far this financial year across the county - compared to the same period last year. That means a 17 per cent increase from 2,688 to 3,158 offences.

In Doncaster, the number of shoplifting offences between this April and July has gone up by 121 to 871 compared to the same period last year. This represents an increase of 16 per cent.

Crime reduction officers are continuing to work closely with shops and businesses, providing guidance about security at their premises.

Police would like to speak to the people shown in the CCTV images as part of investigations into alleged shoplifting offences.
