BREAKING: Man mugged near Doncaster hospital

A man has been injured in a mugging while on his way to work at Tickhill Road Hospital, Doncaster, last night.

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a robbery at around 8.25pm, when a 26-year-old man was walking to work along Tickhill Road when he was robbed by three men near the Byron Avenue post office.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary to be treated for two minor puncture wounds to his leg. He has since been discharged.

The muggers took the man’s wallet and other items from his bag, before heading in the general direction of the Britannia pub.

They are described as being white, in their late teens, all of medium build and all around 5ft 10ins tall.

Officers continue to make enquiries in the area and are keen to speak with anyone who may have information. Call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 1177 of October 31.
