Biker hurt in Toll Bar tree crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured when his bike left the road and collided with a tree.

The 60-year-old man from Balby was in Doncaster Royal Infirmary after suffering a broken left pelvis and left elbow in the crash.

He was riding a blue Honda XL 100 motorbike along the A19 towards Toll Bar when he failed to negotiate a right-hand bend and left the carriageway about 50 yards south of Holme Lane, police said.

The man, who was travelling in front of another motorcyclist, then entered a wooded area before colliding with a tree.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 3.15pm yesterday. Call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 788 of Sunday, November 6.
