the number of Asbos granted in South Yorkshire has hit a ten-year low, a Doncaster MP has revealed.
Only 22 were issued last year, compared with 43 in 2010.
In 2005 a total of 104 were issued across the county. There were 19 in 2002.
And a breakdown obtained through FOI requests has revealed that in the first two quarters of 2012 only five were issued by South Yorkshire Police.
Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton said: “This means communities across Doncaster and South Yorkshire have been left without the vital tools to crack down on loutish behaviour.”
