Costcutters plans are thrown out

Planning permission has been refused for single story and first floor rear extensions at Costcutters, Wath upon Dearne

Rotherham Council planners rejected the proposed extension - by virtue of its 14 metre projection and its monopitch roof height.

Together with its proximity to the boundary, the extension would have an overbearing impact and overshadowing to the occupiers of the attached residential property.

The council further considered that the proposed extension would occupy that part of the site previously required for parking.

The site was also considered to be incapable of accommodating replacement facilities and that would lead to indiscriminate parking in adjacent highways, at a road junction and on a highway bend, which would affect traffic flow.
