Climb that’s child’s play to college tutors

A GROUP of intrepid college tutors will attempt to climb the three highest peaks in Britain – and all within 24 hours – to raise money for charity.

Starting from Friday, May 27, the 11 Dearne Valley College tutors are aiming to climb Ben Nevis at 1,344m, Scarfell Pike at 978m and finally Mount Snowdon at 1,085m.

A number of the team have recently had children – and they decided to celebrate by donating all proceeds from the challenge, to the special care baby units at the Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley Hospitals.

Andrew Skiffington, Team member, said: “The team have been in training for this challenge for some time now, and it will be tough for all concerned but rewarding to know that all monies raised will be donated to three very worthwhile causes in the local community.”

Anyone who would like to sponsor them can contact Andrew Skiffington on 01709 513333 or email askiffington@dearne-coll.ac.uk
