PUBGOERS in Mexborough are set to take on a sponsored walk to raise money for a children’s charity this weekend.
Customers and staff at The Old Market Hall are attempting to complete a 17 mile trek around the Dearne on Sunday for the CLIC Sargent charity.
Starting at the pub from 9am, they will make their way through several towns, including Swinton, Wath and Darfield, before returning to Mexborough in the afternoon.
Pub manager Nick Patching said: “This is the third year we have held the walk and it always proves popular.
“We raised about £2000 in both of the previous years and we hope to do that again this year.
“Anyone can join the walk, just call into the pub for a sponsor form or turn up on the day.”
Free cups of tea and coffee will be served prior to the walk.
