DISTRICT Councillor Hazel Brand has made a contribution of £200 to West Stockwith’s Jubilee celebrations.

The donation, from Bassetlaw District Council’s councillors’ community grants scheme, will help fund the entertainment at the invitation-only street party and evening ceilidh.

The main road through West Stockwith will be closed 10am-6pm between North Carr Road and Ings Lane on Saturday June 9. The celebrations begin with a procession from Ings Lane to the Malt Kiln; there will be a marching band and anyone can join in - fancy dress is optional. After this, there will be activities on the Malt Kiln - the street party will be held between Malt Kiln and the village hall.
