Police are appealing for information after a vehicle left the carriageway on the Dearne Valley Parkway.
At approximately 8.20am on Wednesday, November 21, it is reported that a silver BMW 318 was travelling along the Dearne Valley Parkway between Cortonwood and Hemingfield driven by a 36-year-old man from Ryhill, Wakefield.
It is believed that the BMW was travelling in the direction of Cortonwood towards Hemingfield. The vehicle was approximately 500 metres from Hemingfield Road when reports suggest that it has left the carriageway to the nearside, travelled down the embankment and flipped over onto the roof.
The driver of the BMW received multiple fractures and chest injuries and is being treated at the Northern General Hospital.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicle prior to the incident as they may be able to offer information to assist with the enquiry.
