Companies big and small will find out if they are winners tonight as the town prepares to host the annual Doncaster Business Awards.

The glittering ceremony, supported by the Free Press and sponsored by Solutions 4 Cleaning, takes place at Doncaster Racecourse with dozens of firms going head to head for prizes across a number of categories.

The awards, now in their 16th year, are a highlight of the business calendar and are renowned for showcasing the achievements of firms and the contributions that they make to the economy, as well as their social and environmental impact.

The awards mark the end of the year in style, with reception drinks and canapés, a four course meal and an after party including live band and DJ.

The ceremony will be hosted by journalist Louise Minchin, who currently presents Breakfast and Real Rescues as well as being one of the main news anchors on the BBC.

As well as a great social occasion, the awards provide an unrivalled networking opportunity to meet with Doncaster’s leading businesses.

Typically more than 600 guests attend the awards ceremony, with this year breaking records with the number of entries received and the number of different companies entering both increasing.

Doncaster Chamber’s chief executive Phil Harris said: “The awards are a great way for us all to celebrate and let businesses receive recognition for their hard work.

“We look forward to celebrating their achievements and marking the end of another great year for business in Doncaster.”

This year’s finalists have already been announced and a full list of these can be found on the Doncaster Chamber website www.doncaster-chamber.co.uk

Winners and runners up will be announced at the glitzy bash tonight with full details and photographs of all the victors from the ceremony in next week’s Doncaster Free Press.
