Trade-only store gets revamp

PLUMBERS and electricians will find a new-look trade counter when they visit one local supplier which has spent thousands of pounds on refurbishment.

Doncaster’s Plumbfix and Electricfix trade-only store has benefitted from investment of £10,000 as part of a £1m company redevelopment.

Around 200 everyday trade essentials are now available at the front of the counters to save busy tradespeople time and effort.

Money has also been spent on staff training to further improve efficiency at the Clay Lane store.

Doncaster branch manager Hilary Fenwick said: “After listening to the feedback we received from registered tradesmen, we’ve invested in the format of our Plumbfix and Electricfix counters to enhance the overall shopping experience.

“Our specialist trade customers are extremely loyal to the Plumbfix and Electricfix brands – over the last year, they not only increased in numbers but many are now spending more with us on a monthly basis so it is vital that we respond to their needs. In fact, we recently celebrated a record week, with year-on-year sales up by 50 per cent. We’ve already completed the refit at 95 of our counters and will be rolling out the refurbishment to the remaining 25 counters over the next few months.”
