APPLICATIONS for apprenticeships have reached a record high according to figures revealed this month.
Data from the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) showed that it received 100,000 applications in just one month. The number of jobs advertised also stands at a record high of 15,000, representing seven applicants for every apprenticeship vacancy advertised.
The NAS is now calling on employers of all sizes and sectors to support the surge in demand by choosing apprenticeships to recruit new staff.
NAS recently launched a new Government-funded initiative, the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers of 16 to 24 year olds, which offers grants of up to £1,500, available for up to 40,000 employers with fewer than 250 employees. Apprenticeships
