Rail delays hit Doncaster’s East Coast route

RAILWAY bosses have warned of possible disruption to Doncaster’s main railway link to Edinburgh and London today.

The East Coast line has been affected by delays between Newcastle and Darlinton after a person was hit by a train at Chester-le-Street at about 7.30am.

Network Rail said because of this, journeys between Newcastle and Darlington may be delayed by up to 60 minutes, with the delays expected until about 9.30am.

To find out whether this will impact your journey and to get alternative options planned for you, use the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner, or call TrainTracker on 0871 200 49 50.
