Property chief scoops top businesswomen award

A SELF-MADE property boss has been named the region’s Women in Business Award winner for 2012.

Teresa Galley, of letting and property management company Galley, was handed the award for the Yorkshire and The Humber category at a glitzy ceremony at the Queens Hotel in Leeds.

For her award, the judges said they were impressed by the fact that “Teresa had taught herself basic DIY skills and then went on to develop a substantial property portfolio, she then went onto develop a successful lettings and property management company. Previously she successfully ran large technical projects for London Underground. All of these achievements have served to promote the capabilities of women in the property industry it should also be mentioned that she is actively involved in the charity DHYP, (Doncaster Housing Young People).”

Teresa added: “Winning such a prestigious award is the best feeling ever, when they announce you as the winner it’s like being told you have just won the lottery, it feels great to put women in business in the news, and it’s good to know that some of the best business owners in the world are started and led by women.

“The WIBA awards are amazing and I feel very privileged to have won one. Not only that, the achievement of winning has given the whole team proud recognition of their customer focused hard work and determination to be successful in an downturned economy. We look forward to helping even more Landlords find nice tenants for their properties in the future.”
