A NEW face in the beauty pageant industry has received a welcome cash boost.

Nichola Rhoades (23) of High Street, Haxey has been awarded sponsorship by the international beauty queen, Nicole Skinner, to gain her entry into Europe’s Citrus Pageant.

Nichola - a dancer, model, catwalk choreographer and charity event organiser - will compete in Porthcawl in Wales for the international title of Miss Citrus Europe next month.

Many young men and women from across the UK applied to Nicole, who is the UK’s Perfect Cover Model 2012 and 2013, for sponsorship.

But it was the Isle’s Nichola who walked away with the award after impressing Nicole with her ‘natural beauty, her hard work choreographing fashion shows and assisting with the organisation of charity events as well as her kind hearted personality’.

Nichola told the Bells/Advertiser: “Words cannot explain how ecstatic I am for winning the sponsorship for Citrus the Citrus Pageant in October. I am a new face in the beauty pageant industry and to be crowned most beautiful, most promising and win the Grand Supreme title at my first pageant, the recent Miss Glitz Sparkle, is just overwhelming and now I have been granted this amazing opportunity.

“I cannot thank Nicole enough for giving me such a fantastic opportunity and look forward to working closely by her side for more exciting upcoming events.”

Nicole said: “I believe that Nichola would be a fantastic role model to young girls as she is kind-hearted, genuine and extremely hard-working, she truly deserves this opportunity.

“I am looking forward to mentoring her to achieve her full potential before the October finals; I know she will be fantastic and an inspiration to us all.”

Europe’s Citrus Pageant will take place on October 20 at The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl, offering the winner a place at the grand final held in Orlando, Florida next February.

The pageant is open to girls and boys of all ages who love the stage and are looking to launch professional modelling or acting careers, raise the awareness of a charitable cause or promote a personal platform.

“I started the Citrus Pageant system for young ladies like Nichola who believe in and exude a comfort in their own skin that radiates their own personal perfection,” said Michael Galanes who is the National Pageant Director of America’s Citrus Pageants.
