Caroline Flint is supporting the UK’s first - Small Business Saturday with a visit to Tickhil
Caroline will be calling into Carlson Davies for coffee and chocolates at 10.30am this morning to meet Nikki Davies and other members of the Tickhill Business Association.
In a message to local businesses, to promote Small Business Saturday, Ms Flint urged retailers to “Make the most of it”.
Ms Flint said: “As a local MP, who lives and shops locally, I have tried to be a friend to small businesses. Local shops and services have a unique place in the towns and villages in my constituency; and they give each place its own character. I believe we should shop local.”
The MP has supported the growth of local business organisations in Thorne and Edlington and promoted the work of the Tickhill Business Association and the Bawtry Retailers Association which were already established.
Ms Flint, who urged Ministers to support the establishment of Small Business Saturday in the UK, has circulated Small Business Saturday posters to retailers and is encouraging them to tweet #smallbizsatuk if they are supporting the campaign.
