Jobs market on the up

THERE are more jobs available now than during the last three years according to new research.

The latest Reed Job Index, compiled through advertisement analysis of more than 10,000 recruiters, also shows that the jobs market is much more buoyant than it was a year ago.

The index revealed that 81 per cent of employment sectors were in better shape at the end of 2012 than at the same point the previous year. The charity and voluntary, education and safety and security sectors all showed growth of more than 50 per cent.

Mark Rhodes, of reed.co.uk, said 2012 had been a year of consistent recovery. “We have seen growth across the board in the majority of sectors and regions as employers become increasingly less cautious about their approach to taking on new personnel,” he added.
