Staff at building society outlets in Barnsley and Doncaster helped to raise more than £200, 000 for charities in 2015.

Workers at the South Yorkshire branches of the Leeds Building Society undertook a number of charity challenges to raise money for good causes including Age UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Variety and its own charitable foundation.

Around £100, 000 was raised through the company’s ‘Your Interest in Theirs’ scheme, where members donate the pence amount of interest they earn on their savings. The society also donated one per cent of the average balances in all caring saver accounts, shared equally between the same four charity partners. The foundation also handed grants of more than £102, 000 to 124 different charities.
