Doncaster’s Frenchgate Centre is to receive a £10 million makeover and a host of new shops as part of a major investment.

The new stores and major refits include New Look, Greene King, Poundworld and a Lifestyle Fitness gym.

Laure Barton-Wright, general manager, said: “This is fantastic news for Doncaster. We are really pleased with the positive effect the investment in the centre is already having on our retailers and the Doncaster community alike.

The 20,000sq ft Lifestyle Fitness gym will be the chain’s first ever gym within a shopping centre while Poundworld is opening a new store on the ground floor West Mall. Fashion store New Look is moving its existing store to a new two floor unit of 16,000 sq with a ten year lease, while Greene King, trading as Hungry Horse, has signed up to take a family food and pub unit in the Food Mall. The opening will create 40 new jobs for the town,
