FORMER South Yorkshire Times boss Paul Bentham (right) has taken over a Rotherham design and marketing agency.

Paul (right) comes from Mex-borough and is the son of former Times printer John Bentham.

He left his post as managing director at South Yorkshire Newspapers – publisher of the Times and the Doncaster Free Press, among other titles – last December, after 30 years in newspapers. He has now become MD and joint proprietor of Idea Design and Marketing.

Paul said: “This is a very talented agency, and I want us to be recognised for delivering results.

“In my experience, some companies are not spending enough to win business from their competitors – while others are spending too much, in the wrong media.

“Some are spending the right amount and in the right media, but are perhaps using ineffective messages communicated through poor design.

“That’s where I think we can help. We work alongside a managing director, marketing director or marketing department or carry out that function for a company if the need is there.”
