Edlington retailers have voiced their comments and concerns to local politicians as part of a survey of the businesses along Edlington Lane.
The street was surveyed to promote the work done by Edlington Business Forum.
Pete O’Sullivan of P&D Discounts said: “The response from local businesses was very positive. We found common concerns and shared points of view on local issues. Some great suggestions were made to help improve and develop local business.”
Mike Boylan of Boylans (TV) Ltd added: “The Edlington Business Forum aims to give Edlington businesses a single unified voice. We hope to address the problems and challenges facing local businesses together and, where we need help to solve bigger problems, we hope that the town council, Doncaster Council and other partners will find it easier to respond to what local businesses want.”
Forum members were joined by Caroline Fline MP as well as Coun Bob Johnson, Elsie Butler and Phil Cole.
Caroline Flint said: “Meeting so many businesses up and down Edlington Lane reminds you what a range of longstanding retailers Edlington has. They know each other well. They know their customers and now they are determined to have a bigger voice in what needs to be done to support local firms in this village. I’m right behind them.”
