Denaby Main Post Office has re-opened again after a major re-fit.

The new style Post Office has five serving positions, which will be a mixture of two screened and two open plan, with a Post Office serving point provided for use at the retail counter and available during shop opening hours.

There is also a new cash machine and there are plans for an internet cafe in the branch.

MP Caroline Flint was joined by Couns Sandra Holland and Chris Mills to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony this week.

Caroline Flint MP said: “Everyone knows how important the post office network is in our local communities, and Stuart Jackson and Glen Fraser clearly value providing a good service to the community. So it is wonderful to have the opportunity to open the new look Denaby Main Post Office. The modern premises and Saturday afternoon opening will be welcomed by busy customers.”

Post Office Stakeholder Manager Steve Bruckshaw said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Denaby Main and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
