Council seeking views on car parking across the region

IS PARKING in North Lincolnshire the bane of your life or do you think it’s great? The local authority is seeking the views of residents.

North Lincolnshire Council is giving people the chance to say what they think about parking across the area.

It wants to know where people park and why and whether they think that current provision is good enough.

The views expressed will help shape future car parking decisions in North Lincolnshire and help make improvements where and if necessary.

They will help determine the parking needs of local residents, workers, and leisure and entertainment users.

The survey also covers other transport modes to ensure the council is meeting the needs of all users, and promoting sustainable transport where possible.

North Lincolnshire continues to be the cheapest place to park in the Humber sub-region, with the added benefit of free parking in Scunthorpe and Brigg town centres – helping encourage more visitors and helping boost trade.

The survey can be completed at http://nlincs-consult.limehouse.co.uk/public/bus/corporate/scpr/sprq

Councillor Liz Redfern, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We want to ensure that we are providing the right parking facilities for people, so it is important that you give us your views.

“We want to know what matters to you most when you park in Brigg and Scunthorpe town centre, or Ashby. Is it more important that you park as close as possible to where you need to be? Or do you decide where you park based on cost and length of stay, level of security, or general condition of the car park? We want to know.

“Your views will help us determine our priorities when planning any changes or improvements to parking in future.”
