A BUMPER jobs boost is on the way, as yet another major retailer signs up to a pre-let on a unit at Cortonwood Retail Park.
Dreams, the UK’s leading bed company, will be sited next to Irish toy retailer Smyths once the St Paul’s Developments’ expansion of retail space is complete.
Both companies hope to be up and running by the end of this year or early in 2012.
Sheffield’s JF Finnegan has been appointed to build 32,500sq ft of new retail space. They will start work next month, with completion set for November. Current occupiers at Cortonwood include B&Q, Morrisons, Next, Argos, McDonalds, Halfords, Matalan and Boots.
Dreams also has a store at the Foundry Retail Park at Parkgate, Rotherham. The fast growing company has 264 stores across the country, employing almost 2000 people.
Smyths Toys has 26 stores across the UK and Ireland, and specialises in supplying toys, bikes and video games for kids of all ages.
David Elliott, joint managing director of St Paul’s Developments, said: “We are delighted to have secured additional high-profile retailers to our first class tenant mix at Cortonwood and to be progressing with the fourth phase of works”.
