American firm pledges its future to Manvers

AN AMERICAN company is to take up a large industrial unit at Manvers, and has signed a 17-year lease.

Engineering firm Thetford Ltd will be based on the St Paul’s Development, and Tritax Assets’ 85-acre Brookfields estate, early in 2012.

Around 180 staff will relocate to the new premises from Brookfields, but a company spokesman said there are future plans for expansion and job creation.

Thetford general manager Paul Chambers said: “Our decision to remain in South Yorkshire is not only down to our long-standing history in the region, but also because of the developer’s reputation for building top-class facilities”.

He added: “In the current market, it was a prime opportunity for us to upgrade our property to something that is tailored to our specific requirements, while taking advantage of the financial incentives on offer through the site’s former Enterprise Zone status”.
