Isle companies can sign up to a business portal to find out about upcoming council contracts.
Opportunities for work are showcased on the site www.yortender.co.uk to keep local businesses informed of what is available.
North Lincolnshire Council claims it has saved around £1 million since launching the supplier portal with other regional councils.
The contracts themselves are worth about £4.5 billion a year.
It is free for businesses to sign up to and covers the whole Yorkshire and Humber area.
North Lincolnshire uses the site to procure contracts including supplying sport and leisure equipment to centres, and food and drink to leisure and catering establishments, construction work for new school buildings, supply of road salt to promote safety, provision of youth activities, repairs and improvements to household recycling centres, the delivery of superfast broadband to homes and businesses, and provision of local bus services and home to school transport.
Interested suppliers can register their capabilities and receive email alerts to relevant opportunities. Immediate electronic access saves both time and money.
Coun Neil Poole, cabinet member for policy and resources at North Lincolnshire Council said: ““www.yortender.co.uk is a fantastic resource . By bringing together all contracts for other councils in the region, they are getting access to one big resource that could help their business grow and prosper.
“There is huge potential for some fantastic work opportunities for small and medium sized businesses by using the website.”
