A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy looked on bewildered as his mum dropped dead on a supermarket floor... in mid-conversation.
Tragic Shelley Cooper, 34, collapsed while chatting to a pal, moments after entering Goldthorpe’s Netto supermarket for her afternoon grocery shop.
Her young son Luke was left looking on, as first-aiders and customers cut through her clothes on the shop floor in a desperate bid to resuscitate her – before shop staff led the frightened boy away.
But the Goldthorpe single mum-of-one from Cooperative Street never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead moments after being rushed to Rotherham Hospital.
Now Netto staff and shoppers have raised almost £700 for Shelley’s heartbroken family with a collection at the tills following her shock death.
Speaking exclusively to the Times, Shelley’s mum and sister told this week how the charity shop volunteer’s death remains a mystery.
