Biker badly hurt in A635 crash at Darfield

A biker was left seriously injured following a road collision at Darfield.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash, that involved one other car at 8.11am on Thursday, on the A635 Doncaster Road and Barnsley Road junction.

The 21-year old rider of a black Huoniao motorbike, from Wombwell, suffered a broken leg and spinal injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Barnsley District General Hospital.

Police said a red Vauxhall Meriva was travelling along Doncaster Road towards Darfield when it is believed to have turned right across the path of the motorbike, that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The car driver, a 68-year-old man from Darfield, suffered slight shock. He was not detained in hospital.
