AN 18-YEAR-OLD had her son delivered by her big sister - with a little help from a television show.

Jamie-Lee Henderson, 27, said she used her knowledge from watching One Born Every Minute to help deliver baby Reiley James Taylor when her sister Chelsea Poole went into labour.

Chelsea had called the hospital to let them know she was in labour shortly after midday, but was told to wait at home because it was her first baby.

But by 4pm mum of two Jamie-Lee was delivering the baby herself on the bed at the family home in Cressley Avenue, Intake.

Their mum Michelle Henderson, 44, was also at the house with Chelsea’s partner Darren.

She said: “Because it was her first baby we thought she wasn’t actually in labour.

“We just thought she didn’t know what to expect.”

Paramedics arrived shortly after the birth on April 10 to check that baby Reiley was happy and healthy before leaving the family to welcome the new arrival.
