A kind-hearted youngster decided to use her 11th birthday party to fundraise for a worthy children’s cause.

Ebony Rose Kroger has been desperate to raise money for Bluebell Children’s Hospice and was heartbroken when she wasn’t allowed to join her mum Lisa, and grandma, Elaine Ward, on a skydive for the charity because of her age.

However, the Williow Primary pupil took matters into her own hands as she held cake sales to boost the charity coffers.

Adding to her hundreds of pounds she has already raised, the youngster celebrated her 11th birthday at Bawtry’s Hippogriff venue and asked people to donate money to the hospice fund.

“She has a great time at her birthday and did really well raising about £300,” said proud mum Lisa, 40, of Centurion Fields, Bessacarr.

“She really wanted to do the skydive but because she wasn’t old enough, wasn’t able to which she was disappointed about.

“But she really wanted to be involved. She’s done all of the fundraising herself and really enjoyed selling the cakes.”

Grandma Elaine, 70, added: “Ebony is a very caring and unselfish child.”

Lisa and her mum Elaine will be undertaking their charity skydive from 15,000 feet on June 30, at Hibaldstow Airfield.
