Barnsley stabbing - investigation continues

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information following a murder at Barnsley.

Detectives are investigating the stabbing of a 29-year-old local man in Kendray, Barnsley, after officers were called to Colley Crescent after a disturbance at around 2am yesterday, December 6.

The man was found stabbed in a garden and was treated by paramedics, but died a short time later at the scene.

A 36-year-old local man was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of murder and is in custody being questioned by police.

Meanwhile officers have conducted house-to-house enquiries in the area and a post mortem was due to take place yesterday afternoon.

Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to help with the investigation to call 101 quoting incident number 48 of December 6.
