VOLUNTEERS are needed for the Community First Responder (CFR) scheme which operates in Misterton and the surrounding villages.
Training is provided in life-saving techniques which help patients before paramedics arrive at the scene of an emergency.
Volunteering can be flexible to work around job and family commitments and the training covers symptoms such as chest pains, breathing problems, strokes, collapses and cardiac arrests.
The Five Villages First Responder Scheme operates in Misterton, West Stockwith, Beckingham, Walkeringham, Gringley on the Hill and surrounding areas.
It was launched in 2004 and has attended over 1,400 emergency calls.
Ten CFR volunteers were called to over 100 incidents in 2011 and the organisation is helped by donations from local organisations and individuals.
