A day to celebrate the Isle and all its traditions, with attractions for everyone, is promised in this year’s Epworth and District Agricultural Show.
To take place on August 26 on Epworth Show Field, the day will celebrate all that is great about the Isle’s rich country heritage in a variety of ways.
The one-day event will be packed full of interest and competitions for all ages, with welcome refreshment to suit all palates including a beer tent stocking real ales and ciders, and a choice of cuisine on a range of food stalls.
Agriculture will, as always, remain at the heart of the show this year with livestock and equine competitions, along with vintage tractors and cars for petrol-heads, plus a horticultural tent, and dog shows.
Organisers say there will also be animal enclosure to allow close-up viewing and contact.
Live music and entertainment will last throughout the day with the world-famous Titan the Robot, Britain’s Got Talent’s Gary Magic, and up-and-coming artist Rita Payne to enjoy.
Dave Hayes, Chairman of the Epworth and District Agricultural Society said: “Despite the awful summer we had last year, there was another top turn out for the show.
“Thankfully we managed to keep on top of conditions and keep the show open which is important to our regional agricultural industry.”
He continued: “With all the celebrations the country saw last year, this one is a little quiet, but we are sure this 67th Epworth and District Agricultural Show will be a tremendous celebration of our country’s heritage, and a great way to end the summer’s festivities.”
