Ambulance service claims award

DONCASTER residents needing paramedic treatment over the coming years look to be in safe hands.

For the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust has been lauded for the development of a wide range of apprentice schemes.

The trust was named Employer of the Year in the recent NHS Yorkshire and the Humber Apprenticeship Awards 2011.

It is recognition of the trust’s commitment to developing schemes where individuals receive full basic training, on-the-job mentorship, learn job-specific skills and gain a range of qualifications.

Sarah Fatchett, executive director of operations for Yorkshire Ambulance Service, said: “We are committed to the training and development of our workforce.

“Our apprenticeship schemes are another important step in ensuring a future generation of ambulance staff.”
