It’s lights, Camra, action, as the beer lovers consumer group snaps into action to organise the #DN1BeerFest, which takes place between Thursday 31 and Sunday November 1.

Around 20 Donny pubs are participating in the #DN1 Beerfest, with special offers for Camra membership card holders, including 20 per cent off real ales at the Courtyard in the Marketplace, which will be adding two new beers for the event, free starters with each main course bought at Liberty, Wood St and 20 per cent off food at the Old Angel on Cleveland St and the Marketplace’s Red Lion.

In addition the Doncaster Brewery Tap at its new location on Young Street will have a full range of ales from the much-loved Doncaster brewery and the Salutation on South Parade will feature 12 beers on at any one time, which expected to total around 25 or 30 over the weekend

The Marketplace’s Masons Arms will be serving five beers and their special take on Jamaican cuisine

Other pubs taking part include Ballers Sports Bar, Cask Corner, Corner Pin, Doncaster Brewery Tap, the Gate House, Goose, Leopard, Plough, Railway, Salutation Social, the Tut’n’Shive and Yorkshire Grey.

Camra’s Brian O’Sullivan said: “A number of pubs in the town centre will be holding either a mini beer festival or having more or different beers than they normally stock.”

Cask Corner’s Marc Jones said: “I think this is a fantastic idea and it’s brilliant that Camra have put it together.

“The Camra lads really know their stuff and you can see from the list that they’ve picked the very best real ale pubs in town to participate.”
