THE FIRST phase of plans to redevelop the White Bear estate in Wath have been submitted to Rotherham Council.
Northern Counties Housing Association are proposing to build 24 new homes on land at Michael Croft and Bushfield Road.

They will be a mix of two, three and four bedroom properties which stand two to three storeys high.

The proposal will go before the planning board at Rotherham Town Hall this morning and is recommended for approval.

This is one of six sites earmarked for development on the White Bear estate.

In recent years flats have been demolished and land cleared at the
estate to pave the way for regeneration.

It is expected that as many as 205 new properties could now be built there over the next few years.
