HEARTFELT tributes have been paid on an internet memorial site to a former Dearne Valley College student murdered on a night out in Leeds with friends.
Messages have been left on the Gone Too Soon website in memory of Kyle Jordan Grand, 18, who died following an assault in the city centre earlier this month.
Kyle, of Herringthorpe, was studying for a National Diploma in Public Studies at DVC and
a number of students have posted tributes.
There are also various photos of the 18-year-old enjoying nights out with friends and the dance track Raindrops - one of his favourites - plays in the background.
Kyle's cousin Jamie Smith wrote: "Its not easy explaining how we feel in writing but I just want to say that your going to be missed by a lot of people who loved you with all of their hearts either as family, friend or a partner.
"You will never be forgotten by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing you for as long as they live, you will always be in our hearts."
A former work colleague at Lloyds TSB in Mexborough named Kayleigh said: "He was a real genuine down to earth lad, that got on with anyone.
"He was a cheeky character...always pinching my sweets and cracking the jokes. He knew how to make people laugh."
She added: "I will never forget his cheeky smile. He was such a nice person and didn't deserve to be taken away. Saturdays at work will never be the same and I will miss him lots but will always be thinking of him.
"He touched the lives of many and now he's an angel looking over us all."
Fran Washington said: "Kyle will always be remembered for his kind nature and cheeky smile and personality. He was a such pleasure to work with.
"Just a shame I couldn't have got to know him better. He will be missed by all."
Kyle's dad Wayne is understood to be too upset to speak with the media.
Five men, four from South Yorkshire and one from Leeds, have been arrested and released on police bail in connection with Kyle's death.
Enquiries are continuing.
