TWO Mexborough runners have raised more than £2,000 for charity after completing marathon runs.
Postman Paul Humphries, 33, and former boxer Tommy Joyce, 60, raised a combined total of £2,230 for spinal research.

Paul raised his sponsorship by running the gruelling London Marathon while Tommy raised his money after completing a treadmill marathon at Tesco's in Wath.

They were inspired to support spinal research by former semi-professional footballer Scott Armstrong who is now paralysed from the waist down after breaking his back in a mountain bike accident in 2003.

Scott and his family have so far raised thousands of pounds for research into reversing the effects of paralysis.

A cheque was presented to Scott's sister, Sam Sapey, in Mexborough on Tuesday and she said: "I want to say a big thankyou to everybody that supported them both and a big thankyou especially to Tommy and Paul."
