Family's artwork on show at museum

ARTWORK by four generations of the same family is to be displayed at Darfield Museum this month.
The pictures have been collected by Jean Barnes, a Darfield resident and member of the Amenity Society, has collected together artistic work from her family - the Andersons.

The collection starts with a charcoal sketch produced in 1926 by Alexander Anderson when he was 15, through to the paintings and embroidery of his two daughters, Jean Barnes and Marney Haigh.

There is also stitched work, paintings and photographs by Jean's children Jenny and John and their children.

The exhibition gives an insight into the lively endeavours of the family captured in art over the last 80 years.

The museum is based at the junction of of School Street, Church Street and Vicar Road and members of the public can view the exhibition on Wednesdays (1-4pm, Saturdays (10am to 4pm) and Sundays (2-5pm).
