IT’S a case of the blues and twos with a difference for band Highway 49 - and they’re raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Doncaster paramedics Stu Nelson, 47, and Pete Felpers, 48, will have no trouble dealing with swooning fans at their gig at Doncaster’s The Hallcross pub on May 4.

With Stu, of Blyth, on piano, Pete, of Hatfield, on guitar, Ian Boyall on drums and John Tetley on bass guitar, Highway 49 formed about two years ago - with their name inspired by Canadian guitarist, Jeff Healey.

They’ve recently started selling their five-track CD Take Me To The Highway for £5 - with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the Air Ambulance.

Stu said: “The air ambulance is obviously a recognised charity related to the work we do.”
