Police are appealing for information following a collision yesterday evening, which left a 21-year-old man with serious injuries.

At around 6.20pm yesterday (Wednesday, 4 September), it is believed that a silver Peugeot 206, driven by a 21-year-old man, was travelling along the A57 Worksop Road towards Worksop.

Approximately 400m from the entrance to Lindrick Golf Club, in Lindrick Dale, it is reported that the Peugeot 206 had to swerve to avoid a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction along the A57 towards Sheffield.

It is alleged that the motorcycle was on the wrong side of the road, having overtaken a car that was also travelling towards Sheffield along the A57.

It is believed that the Peugeot 206 lost control while swerving to avoid the motorcycle, skidding off the road into the wooded area next to the carriageway. The Peugeot then reportedly collided with a wooden telegraph pole, a stone wall, and numerous trees.

The motorcycle allegedly failed to stop at the scene.

The 21-year-old man driving the Peugeot was taken to Northern General Hospital with a fractured pelvis.
