1D Louis to play first real match for Doncaster Rovers

One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson is set to play his first competitive match for Doncaster Rovers Reserves when they face Scunthorpe United Reserves on Wednesday, September 18.

The boyband star signed for Rovers as a non-contract player last month and was given squad number 28.

Tomlinson worked at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on matchdays before finding fame with the group through television’s The X Factor.

He is raising money for the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice during his time at the football club.

The news that he will play against Scunthorpe reserve team was announced on Doncaster Rovers’ official Twitter feed.

The club tweeted: “Louis will play in the Rovers vs Scunthorpe reserve game 18th sept. Details Monday at 12 noon on http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk”
