Five Star back together for 80s festival

Five Star

Five Star

Eighties chart legends Five Star have reunited for several dates this summer.

Originally from Romford, Essex, Five Star were dubbed “Britain’s answer to the Jackson Five” with their dynamic sound and fabulous dance routines. The band rocked the British and US pop charts in the 80s, and scored a total of 16 top 40 singles, six of which went top ten, and achieved a multi-platinum selling UK No.1 album in 1986 with Silk & Steel. A formidable live act in the 80s, they sold out six nights at Wembley Arena on their 1987 UK tour. The five siblings make their Rewind Festival debut in 2012, celebrating their 25th anniversary in the music industry.

Five Star features Denise Pearson who recently appeared on BBC1’s The Voice. The band will appear at both Rewind Festivals in the UK in July and August. The first of the two festivals takes place at Scone Palace, Perth, Scotland from Friday July 20-22. The second Rewind Festival will take place at Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames from Friday August 17-19.

Five Star will perform alongside fellow 80s artists including Holly Johnson, OMD, The Bangles, Adam Ant, Tony Hadley, ABC, Grandmaster Flash, Midge Ure, T‘Pau and many more.
